Mia Speaks!
Last weekend, just out of curiosity, I decided to count up how many words and signs Mia has. Signs are definitely in the lead, she has close to 40 that she uses and understands. She also has about 18 words that she will volunteer (and another handful that she will repeat), although I would say that no more than half of them are intelligible to anyone who isn't her parent. I may be wrong about that though, you tell me.
This video has the lovely Mia showcasing eight of her words. About half are pretty clear and the other half are going to be a bit of a challenge. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to identify all eight words. First person to get all eight or first person to get closest wins a $10 iTunes gift certificate and the admiration and adulation of the entire internet.
Ready? Here you go.
Now just to be fair, words 5 and 6 are pretty interchangeable, as are words 7 and 8, so as long as you guess correctly I won't be too picky about order (unless someone gets them all right, which ha-ha).
Here's Diane's contribution for the monthly challenge. She sent stickers too - what kid doesn't love stickers?

Oh crud. I hate work, cant watch any videos. I'll be sure to check out the sure to be cuteness when I get home!

Yeah - I have no clue. But I just wanted to say she is way too cute.
Plus question on the signs. Once my boy got better with his words, he doesn't want to sign anymore. Sometimes I can get him to respond to me, but he just won't use them himself.
What are you using to teach Mia?

How CHARMING to listen to a child's voice again! Of course, I only had to enjoy about 40 seconds worth and can still remember NOT taking much pleasure in the vocal exercises of my own children once the novelty of listening to them wore off!

Haylee happened to be in the room while we were listening to Mia speak so she decided to mimick her every "word". All I have to say to you is be happy she has yet to say mine! I'm not she who gave Haylee permission to learn that one, but I know it wasn't me.
My guess
1. Mama
2. Dada
